Welcome back to the Edge of England. Lend us your ears wherever you are and wander with us to a place where the land meets the sea and creativity is fizzing and bubbling just like the waves hitting the shore. In this episode we’re in Eastbourne with dancer and choreographer Yanaëlle Thiran, who guides us along part of her ‘Performance Path’. Yanaëlle, who is originally from Belgium, tells Emily about her desire to dance in the open, engaging with the elements, passers-by, the street furniture, and even the odd curious dog. Her story reveals a search for creative fulfilment and a deeper connection with the landscape she lives in.
The Performance Path is part of a host of artistic events taking place this Autumn in Eastbourne as the town’s Towner Gallery hosts the Turner Prize.
